The ONGI (Italian National Youth Orchestra) borns as development of the intense artistic activity realized since 2009 by JMIYO (Jeunesses Musicales Italian Youth Orchestra).
A National youth orchestra based in Verona since its foundation has become now the fulcrum of a series of activities especially live music dedicated to young people. Protagonists of concerts and master-classes are young musicians who just are led by distinguished experts to implementation of major concert events. Firsts parts of orchestras and opera singers internationally renowned represent the faculty of the borning Academy ONGI who will thus a series of bimonthly meetings, allowing the birth of a real International Master's Academy for Orchestra and Opera Singers.
The JMIYO, now ONGI comes as the main project of GMI (Jeunesses Musicales of Italy) of Verona in collaboration with the Associations "Mikrokosmos Project" of Verona and “Cultural Association Prisma" of Trieste.
The National Italian Youth Orchestra conducted by Maestro Massimiliano Donninelli then inherits the work done by JMIYO which launched its activities with the courses for orchestral instruments and Soloist with Orchestra which was held in Verona, from 5 to September 13 2009 for soloists and from 10 to 13 September for orchestral instruments with two final concerts were held in Verona on 12 and 13 September at the Church of St. Peter the Apostle Square Vittorio Veneto, with great success, Over 900 people attended the two concerts.
Then the orchestra's artistic activity has now developed collaborating with institutions such as the "National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia " for the concerts season "Archaeological Suggestions", Province of Trieste – II Edition of the Festival “Lo spazio ritrovato”, MIBAC – Musei di Sera – Aquileia, Teatro Miela, Regione FVG - Department Welfare and Turism, TeaterSSG.
